"Preserving politeness: The importance of Exit Calls in the PNP"

This day, we rendered an exit call to PRO 9 Regional Director PBGen Neil B Alinsañgan at Camp Batalla, Cawa-cawa, R.T Lim Boulevard.
It is one of the practices that men in uniform have been doing for a long time. It is done every time a PNP member is let go or moved on to a new assignment. By doing this, it is considered polite to inform the concerned commanders that one of their subordinates is about to depart his area of duty. It is one of the beautiful traditions that should be preserved because this is where we show our respect and recognition to our officers and colleagues in the service.
“Do it right the first time, every time.” – That is what the PRO 9 Regional Director reiterated during his speech. He stressed the importance of getting our careers off to a good start because the feeling of a job well done is a reward for ourselves. As future Police officers, a few days from now, we will face many challenges in our chosen careers as public servants. To overcome all of it, let us always remember to do the right thing. We will not be in trouble for following what we think is right.
We were so thankful to all of the PNP personnel in PRO9 who served as our mentors during our CAP, especially to our Regional Director, who is very supportive and always wants to accompany us in our daily activities with the good officers in the said area. As one of the cadets who have undergone CAP in PRO9, we can say that it is a good start for us as future police officers, and we are sure that we started it right in our first exposure in the field. As our Regional Director said, “the most important part of success is sharing the knowledge.” From the highest-ranking officers down to the non-commissioned and non-uniformed personnel, they all gave their utmost enthusiasm and willingness to guide the cadets.
One of the lessons that can be learned from this topic is the importance of courtesy and exit calls. As future police officers, we must remember to show respect and recognition to our superiors and colleagues in the service. This tradition should be preserved and practiced to maintain a good relationship with everyone in the organization. [1][2]
